Maria's professional life started with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. She
has recorded two albums and worked with Roy Castle, Bill Le Sage, Len Skeet,
Bobby Worth, Nick Weldon and Chris Moyles. Jazz venues she has performed at
include Pizza Express (Dean Street, Soho), Ronnie Scott's, Jazz Cafe and the Soho Jazz
Festival. She has also sang opera in Granada TV's production of Victoria
and Albert playing a princess.
"I started singing because both my parents played the guitar and they played a lot so music became my second language. The house was always full of jazz musicians so it came as no surprise to my parents that I started singing jazz.
The choices I have made in singing have been in many different styles; I have enjoyed everything I have done."
